Free Writing Task. . .

As previously blogged, we were instructed to start a 'free writing' task- a ten minutes writing session, with all but a sentance prompt to begin with, without thought or planning process, to "explode our brains onto the page", attempting to discovering a narrative flow in our text. I really enjoyed this excercise. Although I have been fortunate enough in the past to have a good introduction and development into the practice of creative writing- this 'free writing' task was completely new to me, and made me feel very inspired by the amount I could produce in such a short amount of time, and, better still, I feel that it has helped me gain confidence in my abilities...

Free Writing

"The last time Clarissa kissed..."

it was the most embarrassing moment of her life, she wanted the ground to swallow her whole. Charisa is fourteen, no doubt this was a typical teenage dilemma which would be discussed in great detail later on n the girls toilets. She isn’t a popular girl and most likely never will be. Very plain looking, beautiful in a unobvious sort of way. She’ll never tell you about this moment, it will be remembered at the back of her mind, recalled only in horror. Her friends will try and console her, but Clarissa knows that she missed her chance. Her one chance for freedom and she blew it. To anyone else it was just a kiss, to Charisa it was her escape route away from the bullying, the name calling, the jokes and childish banter. She had to cope with what she had done.
